At Oceana Health & Fitness we really do care about our members.
We understand that joining a health club is a big lifestyle change for many people. We endeavour to create a supportive environment where new members are made to feel welcome and to be comfortable in their decision to join.
Contrary to what most people believe, most members of health clubs are everyday people of all shapes, sizes and ages. You don't need any special clothing or footwear, just a desire to improve your health & quality of life.
If you are new to exercise or have never considered yourself the 'sporty' type, we have a range of programs to help you learn how to exercise safely. From our standard Face to Face program, to small group monitored programs, to one on one Personal Training, we can help you to develop the lifelong habit of exercise.
All of our qualified and experienced Fitness trainers are here to help - Don't try and do it on your own, that is what we are here for!
Fully Equipped Gym
We have the latest in easy to use exercise conditioning machines featuring instructional placards showing correct exercise technique and the muscles used.
Strength training is very popular with all ages especially with older adults because of the benefits it provides in relation to maintaining correct posture and the fat burning effect of muscle tissue.
Personal Training
Personal training has grown immensely in popularity amongst a wide cross section of the community as people recognise the benefits that having your own Personal trainer provides. To arrange a free personal training session click here
Group Fitness Studio
Studies have shown that those who participate in group exercise classes have the highest level of adherence in the short and long term. Exercise classes are a popular environment for interaction because everyone is working towards the same positive healthy result. For an up to date class timetable click here
Exercise Therapy Programs
Oceana has very strong focus and many years experience on rehabilitation programs for people with a wide range of conditions with exercise program design for those with any type of injury, illness or disease. For more on Exercise Therapy Programs click here
Pool Facilities
Oceana Health & Fitness has Hobart's only 25 metre 8 lane indoor pool. The pool is exactly half the size of an Olympic pool and the water temperature is a constant 28.5 degrees.
Our Hydrotherapy Pool is one of only handful in Hobart, which is heated to a very warm 34 degrees. This temperature means the warmth of the water can help to soothe away any aches and pains, and is particularly beneficial for individuals with arthritis or low back and neck pain.
